Calling all Educators! Volunteer at Detroit Independent Freedom Schools
The Detroit Independent Freedom Schools initiative is ready to start holding classes that are community led, culturally enriching, and student centered. Our first Freedom Schools site is now open and several more will be opening in the coming weeks.
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in teaching core subjects (reading, writing, math, social studies). As a Freedom School instructor you will have almost complete control over your curriculum – as long as it is built on a foundation of justice and student empowerment.
We are looking for educators who are compassionate, enthusiastic, and willing to work with our students as partners in the project of learning.
If this sounds like you, please complete our volunteer form here.
